Inspirational Talks by TED

A long term favourite of mine - good old TED!.
TED is a nonprofit organisation devoted to spreading ideas in the form of short, thought provoking talks (typically less than 20 minutes long).  Starting as a conference for Technology and Entertainment it has continued with many high profile speakers from all over the world.  From Business to Science it covers a wealth of information and generally has something for everyone.
Give it a go, starting with the Most popular talks of 2015

Leadership Courses for Care Workers

Here's a follow up to the "Developing Good Leadership habits early" post I made earlier in the week.  I've found a Team Leadership Management Care Course from TutorCare Limited that is a CQC recommended training online course that comes with accreditation.

Covers the following:
    • Awareness of the role of a team leader.
    • Techniques used for building an effective team.
    • Developing skills and confidence to deal decisively with difficult situations.
    • Understanding current management theories and practice.
    • Practical exercises to give you confidence in your management style.
    • Skills to be proactive in the role of team leader.
Have added them to the list of online training providers due to the amount of courses they have.

Toms Guide - Best Brain Training Apps

Just an update on Brain Training Apps - Tom's guide (a guide on all things IT related) has some useful additions to the list shown in The Guardian online.  Actually looks like the Guardian may have used some of them in their own post.  Either way take a look here - Best-Brain-Training-Apps

5 of the best Brain Training Apps for Smartphones

Brain Training - not exactly educational?  While research shows keeping your brain active with activity that isn't work related may help against alzheimers and dementia it does have signifiant benefits inproving memory and general well being.

If you are a phone nut, you've probably already tried various Apps but sometimes finding the right ones can be a complete waste of time.

Fortunately the Guardian Newspaper prepared a list of 5 of the best brain training app in an article last year.

For those that want to dive in here are the links for Android and iOS

A useful webinar on Leadership.  Some other free webinars here also @ webex.com

Developing Good Leadership Habits Early (Instead of Trying to Fix Them Later): Research shows that most organizations wait for years before they train their managers. That’s much too late—and it allows bad leadership habits to creep into an otherwise promising managerial career.
